The basic price of my dulcimers includes a set of good quality, covered gear, guitar tuners of 1 to 8 gear ratio.

Many players, however, prefer banjo-type planetary tuners. These are a handsome addition to the dulcimer and enhance the scroll head design, but carry a higher price.

Planetary tuners have a 4 to 1 gear ratio and come in either chrome or gold. Gold tuners are about $20 more than chrome or nickel.
